Analog Africa Soundsystem

With his innate sense of old vinyl and tape detection, Samy Ben Redjeb has spent a good deal of his life searching through dusty warehouses in countries like Benin, Cameroon, Ghana, Burkina Faso, and Colombia on a mission to rescue forgotten music from oblivion. He has amassed an incredible collection of rare records and tapes, from which he compiles selections for his highly respected Analog Africa label, which has released two compilations of the legendary Orchestre Poly-Rythmo de Cotonou. The Analog Africa Soundsystem was born out of a meeting with Pedo Knopp, well known on Frankfurt’s underground scene for his participation in countless projects like the legendary LAZY parties and the Nippon Connection film festival. The Analog Africa Soundsystem will be touring the U.S. in July 2010 with a gig at Central Park’s SummerStage on July 25th. For more information please contact: booking@analogafrica.com.
