Roger Troutman of Zapp breaks down his use of the talk box

On this 1987 episode of Video Soul, guest Roger Troutman, frontman of the funk/boogie group Zapp, says of the talk box, “I’d heard it with Peter Frampton and a couple of other artists, and I would use it, before we had hit records, in clubs doing cover songs.”

Check this amazing footage of him using the talk box, giving us examples of “More Bounce to the Ounce” and “Computer Love.” Dude was too ill.
