Rumors are abound that Impressions leader Curtis Mayfield will leave Gooden and Cash to pursue a solo career and focus on his Curtom label. Mayfield is supposed to replace himself with another lead vocalist and keep the Impressions going on Curtom Records. We’re also told that Mayfield has been talking about scoring films. And perhaps that industry music magazine Wax Poetics will feature Mayfield on an upcoming cover.
