What’s the most important thing I should know?

Wax Poetics must always have your correct and most current address on file. If you move, please update your address with us in a timely manner; preferably before an issue is scheduled for release. Standard USPS mail forwarding services WILL NOT forward Wax Poetics magazine to your new home. The magazine will only be forwarded if you use USPS’s Premium Mail Forwarding service. This is because we use Bound Printed Matter mail services. Wax Poetics cannot be held responsible for lost magazines if a subscriber fails to update his/her address with us. If we do not have a current and correct address on file, we cannot be expected to provide proper subscription services to our customers. We will not mail multiple copies of an issue if a subscriber fails to provide their current address in a timely manner. That is the most important thing that you should know before subscribing.

How long until I get my first issue?

If you are starting with the current issue, please allow 2-6 weeks for delivery. If you are starting with the next issue, it will be mailed out when it is published.

How many issues do I get?

A one-year subscription to Wax Poetics consists of six (6) consecutive issues.

Why do you need my email address?

We communicate to subscribers via email. If you change your email, please update it with us! When subscribing, please be sure to use a VALID EMAIL ADDRESS (Hotmail is unreliable), and one you check regularly. (We will not give out email addresses to anyone under any situation. We do not spam.)

How do I pay by credit card?

Our secure Storefront will allow you to use your credit card.

Can I send a check?

Yes, please download the PDF and fill it out appropriately, and mail it with your check or money order. International customers should send an international money order.

When does my subscription start?

It starts at the issue you wish to receive, but please allow 2-6 weeks. Please note that if you wish to receive the next issue, it will be sent from a mailing house at the time of publication. All subscribers must understand mailing house process takes time: magazines are shipped from the printer to the mailing house, where individual magazines are poly-bagged and labeled, then sent to a U.S. Post Office in Maine, where they are then processed and mailed. Because of this process, and because magazines are shipped Bound Printed Matter, they tend to take a couple weeks to get to most of America. Magazines may indeed reach certain retailers before they reach a particular subscriber. If this is unacceptable, please purchase your copy from one of our fine retailers or mail-order retailers and pay $6 shipping. If we were to compete timewise with our mail-order retailers, subscriptions would be $24 more to include postage. However, Overseas subscriptions include first-class postage, hence the higher rate.

Can I start my subscription with an earlier issue?

You can only start your subscription with the current issue or the next issue.

Can I order back issues?

Please purchase back issues at our Storefront.

How do I send a gift subscription to another person/address?

In the credit card processing area, there is a spot for a shipping address, which is separate from the credit-card holder’s address.

Why are International subscriptions so high?

The $80 (U.S. dollars) price reflects the high cost of shipping the issue internationally.

How do I change my mailing address or just contact you to ask a question?

Please contact Wax Poetics through the second email link (”Subscription Questions”). Remember that you MUST UPDATE your street address with us when you move; Wax Poetics cannot be held responsible for lost issues if the subscriber fails to update mailing address.

I emailed you a question but never heard back. Why?

Are you using Hotmail or another web-based email account? If so, emails often end up in the Spam folder. Hotmail in particular is very unreliable. If we have not responded to your email, feel free to email us again or call.
