Before his stint at Capitol Records as a producer, composer, arranger, and artist, H. B. Barnum was recording instro and vocal sides for RCA, Imperial, and Eldo. While never known as an exceptional singer, Barnum can be heard here in a profound moment of soul reflection penned by Ben Raleigh. In another lifetime, this track would have been an Otis Redding-style hit. We’re digging this Axelrod-produced gem out of obscurity.
