“I’ve always loved this song. Curtis Mayfield is one of the great American songwriters,” says drummer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Pat Van Dyke about the Impressions’ song, “It’s All Right” from their 1963 self-titled album. “I’ve never recorded a cover song before,” he continues, “but knew that Melinda’s voice would be a perfect compliment to this understated tune. And, what producer wouldn’t want to take a stab at re-working a classic from the Impressions?”

Singer Melinda Camille and Pat Van Dyke are currently in the studio working on a full-length LP, showcasing her songwriting (along with John Robinson). Van Dyke presents this free download as a way to introduce the world to her beautiful voice and presence.

Personnel:

Melinda Camille – Vocals
Pat Van Dyke – Drums / Drum programming, bass, guitar, percussion, handclaps.
