  1. One of the best nights out I ever had was when Norman was behind the decks at World Headquarters spinning a rare groove set, he introduced me to a whole new world of fantastic music in the process – it took about 3 days to wipe the smile from my face.

This is a nice little video put together by Strut Records featuring one of the most influential DJ’s that Britain has ever produced – Norman Jay. His ‘Good Times’ Sound System at the Notting Hill Carnival is legendary (named after the Chic classic), spinning Funk, Soul, Reggae, Dub, Hip Hop, Disco and House, when it comes to good music he knows no boundaries.

In the video he talks about the carnival, illegal warehouse parties, Rare Groove, Soul, punk, Reggae, bringing people together in unity with music as the catalyst.

If you don’t know, then it’s time you did!

Check out his 70’s Chopper bike’ – retrotastic!
