John Morales–remixed Tuxedo 12-inch
In Wax Poetics Issue 61, we featured an article on Tuxedo, the Mayer Hawthorne and Jake One collaboration album that Stones Throw released earlier in 2015. If you check the fine print on the album, you’ll notice John Morales has mixing credits. John Morales of legendary M+M mixes fame, that is. For our story in issue 61, Hawthorne recalled how Morales wanted “to make twelve-minute versions of every song.”
Now, Stones Throw has released a new 12-inch featuring the M+M mixes. Four tracks comprise the 12-inch, with an extended mix and dub of “Watch the Dance,” as well as extended mixes of “Right Time” and “So Good,” with the new mixes ranging from six-and-a-half minutes to beyond eight minutes.
